IND113 - Healthcheck: Non-target species (byproduct) stock status
Metric: Impact of the fishery on the byproduct stock expressed through biological stock status (SAFS categories) of retained non-target species.
Measures the health of fish populations that are affected by the fishery but are not targeted or retained. Based on scientific stock assessments, this indicator shows whether these species are being impacted in a way that is sustainable.

- Data for IND113 - Non-target species (byproduct) stock status
Resource lineage
- Statement
- Step 1: Locate the most recent predefined retained non-target (byproduct) species list for the fishery from the fishery management website for each jurisdiction or other available source. Step 2: Obtain SAFS classifications for each presented stock of the retained non-target species (e.g. from the SAFS website (fish.gov.au)) for the most recent available year. If stock status is unavailable for a byproduct species, report "Data not found" for that species and the year of data collection for the framework. Step 3: Report the stock status for each retained non-target species fish stock and the data’s year of provenance and/or publication where available. Note: The stock status for ALL stocks of each byproduct species is output using this method, not solely the stocks that are targeted by the fishery.
