Data for IND424 - Domestic availability of locally produced seafood

Resource lineage

Statement
Step 1: Determine whether the fishery exports any of its catch for each fishery target species. If no information is available for the target species for fishery, and/or it is a small fishery, and/or there is no indication that the fishery has WTO export approval, it can be assumed that 100% of production is sold domestically. In this case, report the total weight of seafood produced by the fishery for the most recent year for each target species and the data’s year of provenance and/or publication where available. If the fishery is found to export some volume of its total production, move to Step 2. Step 2: Search for one of the following in the order presented: - An industry-estimated weight of seafood produced for each fishery target species for the fishery which is sold in Australia for the most recent available year. - An industry-estimated percentage of the total production for each fishery target species for the fishery sold domestically for the most recent available year, and the fishery's total weight of seafood production for the same year. - An (industry-)estimated percentage of the total production for each fishery target species for the fishery sold internationally for the most recent available year, and the fishery's total weight of seafood production for the same year. If no data are available for the target species for the fishery, report "Data not found" for that target species and the year of data collection for the framework. Step 3: Report (or calculate and report) the weight of seafood produced by the fishery for each target species that is sold annually, domestically, for the most recent available year, and the data’s year of provenance and/or publication where available.
