Data for IND426 - Food safety

Resource lineage

Statement
Step 1: Search for announcements of the following from the past five years: - Trade recalls (Do not count product recalls, as these reflect food safety issues occurring in the supply chain rather than in the harvesting/production phase.) - Product withdrawals (withdrawal of product due to voluntary producer action and/or fisheries or local health agency requirement such as a HAB closure) The announcements of trade recalls and product withdrawals can be found through the following channels: - FSANZ database of historical trade recalls (https://www.foodstandards.gov.au/food-recalls/recallstats). Search this historic database and the FSANZ website by the fishery name and the specific product name(s) of the seafood produced in the fishery for historic or current trade recall notices. - The producer organisation webpage - The state-level seafood representative body webpage - The fishery management agency webpage - The relevant State and territory Food Recall Action Officers webpage If none are found, report "Data not found" and the year of data collection for the framework. Step 2: Record the number of recalls and withdrawals in the past five years which can be directly linked to seafood produced in the fishery. Step 3: Report the number of recalls and withdrawals and the data's year of provenance and/or publication (for the most recent source) where available. Note: FSANZ database may not be accessible, resulting in incomplete data for this indicator.
