- Step 1: Search for the following licencing data for the fishery in the same given year: - Total number of licensed vessels - Total number of vessel owners - Number of vessel licenses held by owners If licencing data are unavailable, search for the following data in the same given year for quota-managed fisheries: - Total number of quota unit holding entities - Total number of quota units - Number of quota holdings by owner entity If partial data or no data are available for the fishery, report "Data not found" and the year of data collection for the framework. Step 2: Use the following tool with the above information to calculate the Gini co-efficient: https://www.abs.gov.au/statistics/measuring-what-matters/measuring-what-matters-themes-and-indicators/prosperous/income-and-wealth-inequality Step 3: Report whether GINI coefficient was calculated using licencing or quota information, the calculated GINI coefficient, and the data’s year of provenance and/or publication where available.
