- Step 1: Define the fishing area and jurisdiction. Step 2: Search the following sources for information from the past 5 years relating to environmental contaminant closures: a) The fishery management agency webpage and Chief Vet webpage in the fishery's jurisdiction for references or links to fishery closure notices due to: - Harmful Algal Bloom events - Heavy metal concentration levels - Organic chemical concentration levels b) Industry Advice Notes for the fishery/target species for notes of export bans due to heavy metal contamination c) The Environmental Protection Agency webpage in the fishery's jurisdiction for references or links to area closure notices due to chemical/pollutant spill events If no data are available for the fishery in the past 5 years, report "Data not found" and the year of data collection for the framework. Step 3: Sum and report the number of notices/declarations of closure events over the past 5 years and the year of data collection for the framework.
