Metric: Ratio of average quota unit sale price to average quota unit market value. Where unavailable, ratio of quota units traded/sold to total number of quota units in the fishery.


Measures how actively fishing quota is bought and sold. Higher values generally indicate stronger demand and confidence in the fishery.

Step 2: Identify and extract, for the most recent year available: - The annual average quota market value for the fishery - The annual average quota unit price in a sale for the fishery If the above data are unavailable, identify and extract, for the most recent year available: - The total number of quota units in the fishery - The number of quota units that were traded/sold If no data are available for the fishery, report "Data not found" and the year of data collection for the framework. Step 3: Calculate the ratio as follows: - For the preferred values: [Annual average quota lease sale price ($AUD)]/[Annual average quota market value ($AUD)] - For the secondary values: [Number of licences traded/sold in year x]/[Total licences in the fishery in year x] Step 4: Report the ratio and the data’s year of provenance and/or publication where available.
