Metric: Presence/absence of strong producer organisation that is accessible to fishery workers. Indicates whether workers and businesses have access to an effective industry representative organisation.

Metric: Presence/absence of information regarding fisheries management and assessment that is accessible to fishery workers. Indicates whether information about fishery management and assessments is readily available to workers and stakeholders.

Metric: Availability of physical or mental support services/initiatives. Indicates whether support programs are available to assist worker health and wellbeing.

Metric: Gross Value of Production (GVP) of the fishery ($AUD). Measures the total harvest value of seafood landed by the fishery before costs are deducted.

Metric: Ratio of the level of actual fishing output to allowable fishing output, i.e. the ratio of actual fishing catch/effort to total allowable catch/effort (TAC or TAE). Where unavailable, the ratio of the number of active fishing licences to total number of fishing licences in the fishery. (%) Measures how much of the available catch or effort allocation is being used. This indicates the extent to which the fishery resource is being utilized.

Metric: Average annual RD&E investment in innovation in seafood production business models for the fishery (e.g. sea ranching, stock enhancement, multiple systems offshore, etc) ($AUD). Measures how much is invested each year in research, development, and innovation to improve seafood production and business practices.

Metric: Ratio of average quota unit sale price to average quota unit market value. Where unavailable, ratio of quota units traded/sold to total number of quota units in the fishery. Measures how actively fishing quota is bought and sold. Higher values generally indicate stronger demand and confidence in the fishery.

Metric: Diesel rebate available to offset costs of production ($AUD/L of fuel). Measures the financial support available to reduce fuel costs for fishing operations.

Metric: Number of quota units or commercial licences within the fishery resource held by Indigenous operators, businesses, or enterprises. Where unavailable, presence/absence of Indigenous operators, businesses, or enterprises that engage with the fishery. Measures the level of Indigenous participation and ownership within the fishery.

Metric: Net economic returns ($AUD). Measures the profit generated by the fishery after accounting for all fishing and operating costs. This indicator shows the overall economic benefit produced by the fishery.
