Resource lineage

Statement
Details recorded include total catch weight, statistical reporting block where catch was taken, diver and processor identity. In most instances, 100 abalone were sampled from each divers catch, and the sample weight. While the database contains samples collected from all state waters from 1968 onwards, for many years the coverage is sparse. The organisation undertaking sampling varies, and the methods and accuracy of the measurements has also varied since 1968.
