Effect of dissolved iron (II) and temperature on growth of the Southern Ocean phytoplankton species Fragilariopsis cylindrus and Phaeocystis antarctica

In this dataset, we compared growth of Fraglariopsis cylindrus and Phyaeocystis antarctica collected from coastal and open ocean water at 3 °C, 5 °C and 7 °C, with and without additions of 5 nM dFe(II).

1) Growthrates This file contains data used for statistical purposes. The raw data was collected growing the two cultures under 3, 5, and 7 °C in capable vials. After having obtained the in vivo chlorophyll a fluorescence, the growthrates (µ d-1) were calculated by using the Ln. 2) Titration values This file contains the titration values for the calculation of the Fe-ligand data, using the Langmuir/Gerringa method.
