Metric: A score of the effectiveness of management regimes in place based on recency, frequency of review, and the inclusion of measurable performance indicators. Measures how well management systems perform based on factors such as regular reviews, current information, and clear performance targets.

Metric: Presence/absence of voluntary mitigation or avoidance strategies to prevent the capture of culturally significant species. Indicates whether fishers voluntarily adopt practices to reduce interactions with culturally significant species.

Metric: Presence/absence of food safety plan or system regarding the fishery that is compliant with the Primary Production and Processing (PPP) Standard for Seafood. Indicates whether the fishery operates under a recognised food safety management system.

Metric: Presence/absence of voluntary codes of practices and/or initiatives to ensure the physical and psychological safety and health of workers. Indicates whether additional voluntary measures are in place to support worker wellbeing and safety.

Metric: Presence/absence of voluntary codes of practice and/or initiatives for the management of waste (including macro-plastics), inclusive of circularity practices. Indicates whether the fishery participates in programs to reduce waste and improve recycling or reuse of materials.

Metric: Presence/absence of voluntary codes of practice to protect animal welfare. Indicates whether voluntary standards exist to support the humane treatment of animals during harvest and handling.

Metric: Percentage of waters zoned explicitly for commercial fishing in the fishery jurisdiction (state/territory or Commonwealth) of operation. Measures the proportion of jurisdictional waters that are designated for commercial fishing activities.

Metric: Presence/absence of regulatory requirements in the fishery's jurisdiction related to the reporting of interactions with protected species. Indicates whether fishers must report interactions with protected species.

Metric: Presence/absence of defined and publicly available decision rules for determining total allowable catch (TAC) or effort controls for one or more of the target species. Indicates whether transparent rules exist for setting catch limits or fishing effort controls.
